Hey Guys,

On the 2008 mega I have a 6 CD changer. Issue is, when running the ipod, I have to use the FM transmitter.

Is there a different Dodge radio I can swap to that still has multi CD, as well as an input jack?

Thanks!

I've had two of them, an '06 and an '08, with the upgraded sound system, six disc changers, and both are Sirius/XM capable. The standard radio in those trucks was single disc with an mp3 port on the front and no Sirius/XM.

Are you sure yours is 6 disc changer and does not have Sirius/XM?

No, it is the upgraded system with Sirius/XM. I ordered it that way.

But I WANT a mp3 port (or any way of hooking the mp3 to the unit for that matter)

You'll have to trade down to the single disc base radio with lesser quality sound. I'm not sure the truck's CANBUS and programming will allow you to do that easily.

go to crutchfield.com... they sell an Ipod adapter that plugs in the radio in the back... . that is what i want to do, since i do not have an iPod input jack... . and the signal would be clear, not that interference junk from the FM transmitter... hope that might help

Does the six disc changer/Sirius radio upgrade in Gen III Rams have an input on the back where something can be plugged in?

Ill bet you can go to a Best Buy and get an adapter for you radio. I did when I wanted to have my Sirius hooked up and leave the stock 6disc yes the radio was an upgrade in my truck its the infinity up grade. But anyway the adapter that im talking about went between the back of the radio and the antenna the Sirius/Ipod could plug into the other end of the adapter in the cubby hole below the heater controls on my 04. 5 hope this is what your talking about.

I went online to best buy but there is like 3K adapters on the books. I just went to the audio dept and told the young man what I wanted to do and he did the rest install took about 5min. they know how to take your dash apart without F ing things up they do it a bunch.
