When I ordered my '04, I didn't go for the Infinity cd/cassette system, figuring the standard cd would be enough. Heck, I've got a tin ear from years of LOUD Harley pipes anyway. Now my wife wants to listen to books on tape while we travel and we have no cassette player. I've seen on ebay the cd/cassette radios go for decent money. What's the fitment and interchangeability on these radios? On guy advertises in his listing that all the rounded corner radios are the same (late '02s and up). Is he right or full of bs? I just want to pop out my standard cd radio and replace it with a cd/cassette factory radio. I don't want to mess with adapters, wiring changes, etc. Just something that wil accept the present plugs, etc. Also, if anyone has one they've pulled out for an upgrade and wants to sell it, send me a PM and we'll see if we can work something out.

TIA

I bought a take out Radio/cassette/CD for my truck of eBay, simple 10 minute job. Just be sure it has the newer plug style which I belive is one big plug, I think it is from 2002 on that has it.

2002 up is the ticket-the older big units will not fit, and neither will the aftermarket big units.

-they are $478 from www.dodgeparts.com

I believe that this is cheaper than the option was and you get to keep or sell the AM FM CD

Or you can get a $20 adapter from BestBuy that plugs into the cig lighter, and powers a cassette player and hooks into it's headphones jack, and broadcasts on an empty FM station-a player/recorder form WalMart is $20-not stereo-the Walkman types did not have the jack to support running without batteries-but in the case of books on tape non-stereo may be a non issue.

Or you can buy a take out on Ebay-maybe $100-$200 ?

you can't go by the shape of the faceplate. 2001 and earlier radios used the ancient connectors, which were two 7-pin connectors. 2002 and newer radios use the 22-pin connector that your truck needs.
