This guy has a 95 longbed standard cab auto @130k miles.

1)The engine runs ok. No bombs;) No major leaks.

2)The transmission shifts good.

3)Doesn't look like it ever towed heavy. Just a bumper hitch.

4)The body, bed and interior are totally trashed:eek: Stem to stern.

I'm thinking about making him an offer. He's asking 3800. I think I'll put 2500 on the table. Think its worth it?Thanks for any advice.

For my purposes (donor chassis/driveline), it's worth $2,500, but I wouldn't pay any more for it as you described it, seeing as how you probably couldn't recoup any money off the body parts.

A couple of years ago here locally there was a '98 12v AT reg cab w/ 68k miles for sale in the paper for $5k. I went and looked at it. It was an ST model and there wasn't a body panel on the entire truck that was not damaged - it looked like hammered ****. The truck had been poorly maintained on top of that. The next week the asking price in the paper was $4k. My mechanic buddy told me it was worth the $4k strictly for parts (being a 98 12v), but I was ambivalent about it. Someone snatched it up. Someone may actually pay the guy $3,800 for his POS you're talking about.
