What can you do to level out the front end on these trucks, mine sits alot lower than the front. Will that throw anything off? Pinion angle, etc? Who offers any kits? Has anyone already done this to theirs? Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Just installed a 4" skyjacker kit. Easy install when you get all the wright parts. Comes with front leaf springs, 4 shocks, drop pittman arm, rear add a leafs (I did not install them), steering stabilizer, bushing and bolt kit, would recommend getting adjustable drag link. If you order a kit, order from a well known place! I'll try to get some picks for you.

I only want to level the truck out, I seen a red one that was for sell on Ebay that had this done and really sharp looking truck, they had leveled it out... .

Yup, that's what the 2" to 2 1/2" front lift does. 39 1/2" to the top of all four wheel well openings. After installing the springs, an adjustable drag link will straighten the steering wheel, if that bothers you. Good Luck.

Does anyone have any part #'s for the springs an adjustable drag link? I found some soft-ride skyjacker springs, they raise front by 2", is this a good kit, and I take it you need a newer adjustable draglink huh?

hotram03,

Where are you looking to the the springs? Just curious since we live relatively close by? I've read on here time and time again to specify DIESEL springs. Apparantly there is a difference between the gas & diesel springs?

Thanks,

Brian

My springs on the front are D200CS, and it says on the sticker "front 2" lift cummins". I don't remember what the rears are, they have been on for over a year and the sticker is a goner. I would get the adjustable drag link. My truck was corrected with a steering arm lift block, but now the wheel is crooked because it is lower than it was. I think I am going to get an adjustable link to center it.

The adjustable draglink is not just to recenter the steering wheel for cosmetic reasons. Without adjusting the draglink length, the steering box will not be at center when going straight and your turning will be affected. You will lose some of your right turn radius... and with these trucks, we need all we can get! :) As a bonus, you gain some left turn... assuming you don't hit your steering stops first. :D

Basically, if you lift your truck, get the adjustable draglink to correct your steering geometry. I didn't even realize our trucks didn't have an adjustable draglink in the first place... that's weird.

Oh, and just recentering the wheel (by removing the wheel and rotating it on the column) won't fix the steering geometry and will probably lead to issues with turn signal auto-shutoff stuff.

If there is no adjustment in the draglink in stock form... an adjustable draglink is necessary unless you get a dropped pitman arm that returns the draglink angle back exactly to stock. I'd get the adjustable draglink, anyway... but I'm all about adjustability! :p

Tuff Country levelling kit (spring spacers), less than $250 installed by hte dealer. Work great on my "05 4x4, ecxept now headlights little high when truck under full squat with camper + trailer.

I agree on needing the steering box on center, my steering is a bit vague when making a right to left transition now. I am gonna get an adjustable link soon.

On our truck, the Sky Jacker front springs made a big difference in the ride quality. Before the springs the Supreme Commander couldn't knit while motoring down the highway. Not a good thing.

You guys who have/had stock front springs have nothing on the bricks that were in the front of mine. I think a caveman made them. The wife and I baby sat our friends 3mo. old and we used my truck to go out to breakfast because we were not putting a car seat in the mustang. I thought that kid was gonna have shaken baby syndrome by the time we got back home. Nearly 2 years later and the kid still seems normal, whew :-laf

I took my springs out and had them re-arched and added a leaf. Cost ALOT less than new springs. And to deal with the steering wheel, I got a drop pitman arm from summit.
