Ram Air Hood

I ntalked to Doug Hofeldt at the Egde rally in Sep. and he is working on a hood for the 03 Dodge that looks like the3 SRT hood and it is of course functional. It looks real sharp.

yep, the srt-10 hood looks real slick, but i don't know how it'll look if you have the factory hood protection thingie... pretty silly probably... [and that's what i have on my 04 on order... ]

Has anyone put this Ram Air Hood on, the one Vaughn posted?

I received some nice damage from baseball size hail and will be replacing the hood, windshield, and roof. I was looking at the SRT hood, in some of the posts, and I think this Ram Air one looks very nice.

A functional ram air is appealing but what about the K&N setup? I had previously been swayed towards the AFE air filter so I am not sure about the ram air setup. Also, this Ram Air Hood is made from fiberglass I think? Does anyone know what the SRT hood is? I am assuming metal, as it comes from Dodge.

I was really hoping someone out there has tried one or both and could post their thoughts please.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Brian, Yes, the SRT hood is metal.

I've had a SRT-10 hood in my garage for over 2 months and haven't put it on, still in the box.

I think I am going to do a few other bombs and then maybe get the air-grabber hood and put on it . If anyone in Northern Cal. is interested in it PM me.

I was going to put the RamAir hood on my '02 gasser, but then I traded for the CTD. I would still like to have the hood, but, I know it will not be functional... $1100 is a lot for looks..... that, plus, I have a LB.....

The factory SRT-10 hood is not $1,100. I purchased mine straight from the MOPAR counter at my local dodge dealer for under $600. As for your truck being a LB, so is mine. There are some pictures of the SRT hood and SRT front bumper installed on my truck in my readers rigs pics.

This forum is kinda hard to follow at times in that I can't figure out who is replying too who?

GWoody, when I ordered my SRT hood on 5/14 I was told it was on nation wide back order. I recieved it on 5/28. Might take less time now. I do not think the hoods will have changed any. And yes, the hood comes primered. After the hood is painted, it looks like a straight forward swap.
