You need to do a little more research on aerodynamics. It was proven decades ago that forward facing scoops in that location are in a low pressure area as air vaults over the square front of the hood. Looks cute, does not work as intended. A rear facing scoop at the base of the windshield works, a forward facing scoop in the grill works.

KOG i dont know if it was your intent or not but that statement makes you sound like a real arrogant

Maybe it will work maybe it wont the point is its some thing I put a lot of work into it a simple cool or nothing at all would have be fine, the whole looks cute thing was not well revived, cause i really dont care if its aerodynamically correct or not

What he means is it won't work due to the aero dynamics of that big flat frontal area. It is the wrong place to put the intakes. It is a great idea, looks nice, but if it won' work as designed, and, I would hazard a guess you may actually reduce air into the engine.

Nothing wrong with pointing out discrepancies' in a design and explaining why.

Great thread folks.
Ray is passion driven and loves his first gen. Nothing wrong with his experimenting.
Kog - solid advice without the demeaning terms would be helpful to those concerned.

Well i haven't had time to finish the air box yet, but the scoops dump air on top of the filter, i have noticed around 0.8 to 1.0 mpg increase after installing the hood I went from 19.5 or 19.6 mpg to a combine average of 20.4 to 20.5 mpg
