well, what can i say... I was hit by a druck driver that blew through a stop light that was as red as Red gets.

good news is that little/none damage was done to the cab, all damage is on the bed...

SO. . which aftermarket bumper should I ungrade to?

Is there even any aftermarket bumpers out there?

thanks!

It appears as though you may need more than a rear bumper:D . That said, I think Reunel makes some pretty sweet bumpers.

tell me about it,

I told the wife I wanted to fit bigger tires, but this IS NOT the MODIFACATION I had in mind :D :D

luckly all I will need is a new bed,bumper, wheel-tire,and leaf spring+perches...

Thanks I check reunel

Here's my new Ranch Hand. (The oval holes on each side are for back up lights that I haven't put in yet) Nice hefty steel protection with a good look.

with a hit like that ... better have a rear end shop check out if the axel tubes and axels, bearings and brakes to see if they are straight and true . . not to mention the center section of the rear end

Sorry to hear about your accident. Drunk drivers suck! Anyway, hope everything works out for you in the end and the truck is fine. Like willyslover said, I would definitely have a specialty shop inspect the rear frame, axle housing, etc. and make sure everything is straight and true.

Bighammer: What model Rnachhand rear bumper is that? Looks sweet :D !

Tom,

Sorry to see this. I just got word that my Buckstops are ready to ship. I got mine in gold, but there are lots of other colors available. Check out www.buckstop. biz

what a shame sorry about your truck man. If someone did that to my truck i guarentee they'd regret it forever  . stupid drunk idiots... . sorry. Id have EVERYTHING check out 100%. look everywhere. have tests done to see if the frame was weaken/cracked. I dont know what they call the tests to see if frames are bad but i know it has alot of science involved... good luck man

so far, Buckstop and ruenel are coming right in at $500 or so.

top it off is that the police still dont know if the driver has insurance

The road armor bumpers are the best, but Woah! the price, ouch

i will update later, thanks!

Tom,

Call Buckstop and ask Dorian if it's too late to get the special TDR pricing we got on our purchase. He was the one we dealt with.

anyone know why the reunel website is dead?? Do they have a new address or something?

i called and the sire will be up in a few days, they forgot to renew their address... haha

AND I think for looks, I will try to afford the Road armor,

BUT for second choice, I think the buckstop is the best bang for buck, thanks every one for the info !

on another note,

I have decided that whos ever insurance pays for this (the drunk driver still has not produced insurance), I will take the money and pay off my loa, and then pay for the repairs myself

seeing as i have a friend at my dealerships body shop that will do it,

Question to every one here - any one have an extra aluminum wheel for sale? or know of a front-wrecked ram? so i can buy the entire bed?

thanks!

Sorry to hear about your accident. I was hit a few months ago with damage to the rear bumper only. I got a Ruenel and had them put on the hitch option. Factory hitch is good for 10,000# pull and 1,000# pin weight. My new Ruenel is good for 20,000# pull and 6,000# pin weight. I was interested in that because the factory hitch was pretty marginal with my heavy trailer. Old bumper tipped the scales at about 20#s and the Ruenel came in at 178.

Anyway, I paid $695 for this thing with the diamong plate overlay and hitch upgrade. The bumper was delivered with everything needed to install including new license plate lights and electrical connectors, grade 8 bolts, trailer plug brackets and rivets. The R&R took about 3 hours.

The other bumpers mentioned are probably great too, but this is the one I know about. Hope this helps and good luck,

100 Proof

Actually, what I wanted to ask is what happened to the factory hitch? Is it still under there, covered up? Or did you have to cut it off, or what? Just curious.
