I just installed one on my 97. I bought the ram head from the dealer, price was $58. 00. The instructions and measurements are for a first generation truck. You have to drill 3 holes in the hood. Study the sheet metal on the bottom side and remove the hood latch for installation. There are one, two, and three layers of sheet metal in the front area of the hood. If you place the ornament correctly, only the third or most rear hole will go thru two layers of sheet metal while the two front holes will go thru a single layer. Drill the center hole from the bottom side first, then you can make final alinement adjustments and drill the other two holes from the top.

The Mopar hood ornament costs twice what Whitneys wants but the quality is more than twice.

JC Whitney, I just bought one that is chrome and cost 17. 99. Do NOT order the 94 and above hood ornament, it is ugly and comes mounted on a chrome dome. You can also get gold and illuminated eyes. Easy to mount too. After drilling holes in the hood #ad
