Just in from my TDR e-mail, Ram Towing and hauling info coming...

"So fellow Ram enthusiasts, it looks like this information will be available shortly. Check the website. We will post them as soon as they are available for publication which appears to midnight tonight, January 8, 2013. "

Looks like the Ram 3500 GCW is now 37,600:eek: the Ram 2500 is 25,000 and the Ram 5500 is 37,500:confused: I didn't see a GVW for the Pickups.

30,000 lbs.!!!

Maximum trailer weight of 30k!! i might just end up trading in my truck for a '13 and hold off with doing anymore work on mine. I can't wait for them to come out and take one for a spin! I wonder what kind of gears the trucks will have to even tow that much weight?

30Klbs is just ridiculous!! Amazing... but ridiculous. Its cool they not only upped the bar over everyone else... they just flat out lost sight of the bar!

I also read the article, and it reaffirms my suspicion that the 3500 with the Aisin transmission, the new front suspension, and the 850 ft. /lbs of torque will be a dually only. It looks like the SRW pickup will be the 2500, and it will continue with the 68RFE transmission and the 5-link front suspension, but will have the other features such as the new cooling system and the front axle disconnect. Time will tell if I am correct.

Yep, I too checked there early this AM and nothing. Also I noticed there's is nothing about new the GVWR which is my concern since I haul and don't tow.

Bill

Bill,

Even for those of us who tow, a truck that can supposedly tow a 30,000 lb 5th wheel had better have a GVWR that can handle 6,000 to 6,500 lbs of pin weight.

The one thing on the new 13's I wish I had on my truck is the camera in the 3rd brake light for hooking up our fifthwheel. Maybe the front axle disconnect also, all though that can be had after market for a little money!

Looks like I'm already wrong, there is a listing for a SRW 3500 with the HD automatic. I wonder what that's going to cost.

In Texas, if you're towing over 10,000 lbs with a truck whose GCWR is 26,001 or more lbs, a NON-COMMERCIAL class A license is required. A CDL is only required if one is engaged in commerce (commercial activity).

Bill, the max gvwr is clearly now at 14000. Check out this chart, shows payloads also. http://blogs. cars.com/files/1-ram-3500-towing-2013_01-08-13-33.pdf It shows that the SRW is available with the Aisin as well. I believe the link is an attachment from the press release.

Here is the full story, scroll down to the links http://news. pickuptrucks.com/2013/01/2013-ram-hd-the-king-of-towing-at-30000-lbs.html

I think a new 3500 would haul my AF990 just fine, I should get ordering priority because I've been waiting the longest !!!!!

It looks like the 3500 SRW is only offered with 3. 42 rear axle, any transmission, thats not cool...
