95 project truck

Reading "Heavy Duty Trucking" Jan 2016 issue. HDT and other trade mags publish sales reports for various classes of trucks sorted by brand and class.
For November 2015 in class 3,4,5, 10001-19500 lb class, Ram outsold Ford 43.01% to 35.14%. A pretty good margin.

Ram, Nov 12,345/ YTD 141,423/ 43.01%
Ford, Nov 10,307/ YTD 115,553/ 35.14%
Chevrolet Nov 2867/ YTD 34,497/ 10.49%

Other brands in this class are; Freightliner, GMC, HINO, International, Isuzu, KW, Mitsubishi for a total of 328,819 units.

Nice! In all fairness, I think of all the brands listed, Ford and Ram are the only ones with vehicles in all the classes 3-4-5. I would like to see GM get back in, I liked their approach with the larger cab and tilt hood when they did have the 4500/5500. It sounds like they are talking to Navistar for a possible 4-5 class.

Oh god, don't post that over on rv.net! There are a number of blue koolaid folks that will spin like tops. On second thought, you should post it over there, so a few of us can watch them spin! SNOKING

That should be fun. How long is the guess for the thread being closed.

I'm not surprised. On our trip to Alaska last summer, July 2015, I did a count of HD Ram/Dodge, Chevy and Furd pulling or hauling RV's. It was clear that there were far more Ram/Dodge than the other two combined. This was also true on our 06 trip to Alaska. On our trip to Alaska in 1995, there were far more Furd and GMC.

On my out of state trips saw more Dodges than anything else . When I saw a Ford I felt sorry for the guy. HD more Dodges , GMC no where to be found. Some kool-aid drinkers still. I may have mentioned in another thread my son is a paramedic for a large city he was on committee to choose new rigs . They all voted for the Dodges and the Chief over road them and ordered Furds. Big mistake biggest pile of crap . The next batch were Dodges they are very happy with them .

p-Bar, sometimes cities bid a contract based on a spec when they purchase and the brand is blind. This is why you see certain consistencies over and over. The people who work with and on them suffer. See some of my other posts. Lololol.

We see the same thing with government agencies and boat/motor purchases. They got Mercury outboards repeatedly due to low govt/fleet pricing and our brands couldn't compete on price. All it took was the cheaper hulls and non reliable outboards (Mercury Optimax is the marine version of the 6.0 Ferd) failing regularly and certain hull types were banned from govt bidding and the people writing the contracts wised up and would spec out the brand of engine they wanted in a way to eliminate the cheaper Merc.

Depending on which moderator get's put out (to be PC) first, my guess is B@#$&%S he's an idiot. He didn't like my location or my putting in each of my posts after I had a run in with him. "Be Careful what you post here...Big Brother is watching" he got me banded because he said I post vulgar language and other things. He an one of his cohort's.
I complained to CW and GS who jointly own RV.Net and cancelled our member ship and demanded a refund. Not only did they refund our membership fee's but they also gave us free memberships in both for the past 5 or 6 years. I guess the do not like people going on the internet and voicing their opinions about Good Sam's or Camping World.

That would be fun! :-laf

I am a bit surprised but happy to read this.

The latest Ram trucks are improved/continue to improve, but much of this has got to be the Cummins ISB engine. This was one of the best engine/chassis marriage decisions ever. 27 model years and counting!

We did however see tons of F150 not towing anything. Ford may sell more vehicles than the competition, but when it come to a work horse, it's Ram/Dodge.

I have a Ford (not much longer) I see more 1995 1996 and 1997 F-250/F-350 Fords in my area than anything. I do see a lot of the new F-150 ford Trucks. I live around the corner from a Ford Dealer.( I wouldn't send my Ex-Wife there. On second thought maybe:confused:) I see more new cars on tow trucks going there. In the area that I live I probably see Ram Trucks 5 to 1 over Fords. Pulling Dump Trailers and Flat Bed Trailers. There is a towing company in the neighborhood that used to have nothing but Ford tow trucks. He now has 10 Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis Tow trucks. and one 2500 Pick-up service truck Also they all except for one are equipped with cummins engines. It might be because I am buying a new Ram?
