Sorry, I am the media. So what is there to despise? How about sensational headlines? Sorry, what is “I despise the media?”
The NBC article, “1.25 Million Dodge Ram Pickups Recalled Over Fatal Software Glitch,” if it is technically correct, is the best that I have seen that describes the problem. I give proper regards to the author, Paul A. Eisenstein. I will try to dismiss the copy editor that may or may not have created the sensational headline.

Now to the point: A Fatal Software Glitch? Really? As I read the article (again, is it technically correct?), the system resets when the vehicle is turned off and then back on. There is a warning light on the instrument panel. So I’m off-roading, and I hit an obstacle hard enough to turn on the warning light. Seems to me that the light is a good indicator I should STOP and check out my truck. Kudos to the engineer?
One death. Two injuries. Don’t blast me for being cold-hearted, but the statistics do not appear to measure up. And to think some day we will have autonomous vehicles running the streets and highways of the US. Maybe not.
Now looking on the Ram side of this recall, can it be a business opportunity? More later. I’ve got to make some phone calls.
