What was implied if I may ask

It was my take that he didn't imply anything. He merely pointed out that they do produce perfectly working trucks. To point that out, does not automatically mean he is stating that NONE are bad.

With the amount of ranting that goes on the internet, sometimes it needs to be pointed out that things aren't as bad as they might appear. No car manufacturer has 100% quality rating.

Sheesh, you're more argumentative than I am...

I'm sure Rusty didn't mean or imply as much in his statement as you perceived.

I agree on both counts.......It's too bad the newbies feel like they need to come on here and prove themselves by being abrasive and confrontational.....

I have been following this thread and have found the different experiences with the old truck's interesting.

I was always under the impression that Ram (and formerly Dodge) made a really ****ty truck (frame/body/paint/electronics) that was rife with electrical problems and rusted out faster than Ford or Chevy (and didn't withstand abuse that a working truck should). I'm talking 10-25 years ago. About 5-12 years ago friend of mine had a 12 valve that he hit a curb with. It was a daily driver, he never towed anything. (Except he did pull a UPS truck out of the mud once). The cummins was still going strong. But he bounced it off a curb and I believe something gave way in the frame. 490,000 miles can take a toll on a truck. But the Cummins never hesitated. And was still good when he sold it.

So I now know that there are people who had good experiences with the older trucks and the stereotype of Dodge/Ram building a crappy truck around a legendary engine might not be an accurate stereotype.

As long as the discussiins don't turn personal. (People are no longer talking about the trucks), there may be some value in stating or restating your experience, opinion or knowledge.

The stereotype I formed was from high school/college when guys start talking/comparing their first rides (and in some cases their parents ttucks)(i was raised in a farming community). But over the years these main 3 main US automakers have changed so much, its hard to keep track of what's good/bad.

IMO you are wrong . Someone states a problem, and then here comes the Rusty's with I DON"T have a problem, so what, does that change the fact . The last thing he wants to hear is I don't have a problem, smooth as glass. He would probably like to hear a solution , or at least , I hope you find the problem .Thats how I perceive it. Opinions do vary

If you don't think some on here are not blinded by brand loyalty, then what ever is implied by newbie may apply.

A similar thing (but opposite) could be said about you. You don't want to hear that anyone is perfectly happy with their truck and have not had the problems you have, you also don't want to hear that the vast majority of trucks do not have a problem that you have.

You just want to complain, that's what you do. When people do that all the time, others like to chime in to let it be known things aren't as bad as some make it appear, especially when they say things like "Maybe they can build one that wont shake like a Mexican jumping bean when going down the highway", it is worth pointing out that they do, in fact, build tens of thousands that don't shake like a Mexican Jumping bean.

I am certain that Rusty is under no delusion that there are no trucks that exist with problems.
