I nailed a fast-running doe the other day right in the middle of my bumper. Damage is: bumper, grill, and condenser pushed back into the intercooler. Looking from the bottom, the intercooler is warped back into the lower core support. Truck runs and drives ok. Still have normal boost. How can I determine whether the intercooler is ok?
I plan on getting a Ranch Hand Bull bumper to replace original bumper.

If you have full boost and no hissing sound I'd say lucky you - no leak.

It would sound like a punctured tire at 30psi - continuous. A leak a little bigger, you wouldn't reach full boost.

Thanks. No hissing noise or other symptoms of problems. The AC is not cooling, but the freon usually leaks out over the winter anyway. I took it for an insurance estimate, so I'm sure they'll replace the condenser and grill. They said they had to pull the intercooler to look at it. Been driving it for now. I go in for a new knee in a couple weeks, so will probably have it worked on then. I won't be able to do much myself until fall.

I install brush grill guards on all my vehicles, except DW didn't want one. We have small deer, wild hogs, and other varmits that make for a bad time if hit. Even installed one on my new MH.

Did you get the bumper? I've been waiting on a Ranch Hand for weeks now that was supposedly ready to ship. Some are 12 weeks out I'm told.
YES. I got. I haven’t driven my truck since because I had a knee replacement and my wife won’t let me drive yet. I got the Fab Fours for $1300 and had it Line-X’d for another $250. I think it looks great. Only thing I don’t like is the steel mesh over the fog lights. I wasn’t there when Line-X installed it, or I would have ground them off.

They installed a new ac condenser, new intercooler, new radiator, and new grill. Total about $2400 not including bumper.

SSage, where are you located? When I ordered this bumper through our local Line-X store, he said there were 3 or 4 in a warehouse in Indiana. That was about three weeks ago.

I was originally going to get a Ranch Hand, but they were hard to find. I guess a few in Texas and New Jersey, but Line-X said he liked these better and they were less than $100 more.

I'm in Alabama now, displaced Texan. Most of the bigger brand bumpers are distributed by Meyer Distributing in Indiana. Mine is coming out of Houston, TX via Meyer. I was just looking at the ones with the full brush guard. Frontier was 6 weeks out, only had Ranch Hand's in stock when I called. The other brands were 12 weeks or more.

I ended up ordering the one I'm familiar with, the Ranch Hand Summit. The heavier Legend was 10 to 12 more weeks out. My 2003 had a couple hits already, I'm trying to get it on there before another deer or whatever goes suicidal. Probably should have done it years ago when the truck was in Texas. I haven't really had that many deer issues, but with the trucks age, a big hit could end it! I'm looking forward to the bumper makeover.
