Ugly rumors about Tulare

Any Chapters in Boston Area

I got back from Tulare, CA. last night after a truly inspiring day. What was traditionally a PSD event, according to posts by other members, turned out to be a truly mixed venue for Cummins and Strokers alike. The Tulare AG Center was a great site with a huge barn full of toys, toys and more toys. Everything you need to turn input shafts into shrapnel. Those that were stock or slightly B. O. M. B. ed got to try their luck at dragging a 15,000lb sled and put on a pretty decent display. For the Big bombers, alot of ego was on the line. The powerstrokers had a couple very impressive pulls. But, of all the bombs that dropped (Pro Tractors aside)no better show of screaming turbos, flying dirt, and oh yes LOTSA' SMOKE, could thrill the huge crowd like our own Bomber extraordinair. . . You guessed it, The ADAM B. O. M. B.
I wish I could have stayed for day 2. Alas, life must go on. There should be plenty of pics and video for all to see, including CJohnson and I running for our lives as a triple turbo John Deere Tractor decided he might attempt an off track excursion. I guess he was just trying to ruffle our feathers. This was just a quick update. Me? Well, I gotta' get back to preening those feathers. #ad

I second what Newf Limo says - that was a lot of fun. I've got some good video to support these claims, so don't worry guys. Just give me a chance to get this stuff in the right hands so we can get it on the web. All I can say for those who haven't seen Adam run, aka (my 6 eats v 8's) is you don't know what you are missing. We cummins owners are well represented by this Kamakaze (sp) BOMBER. I have no idea how the sled pulling turned out on Sunday as I left late Sat. night, but from what I saw, Adam sure did stick it to em'.

As Newf said, it was really neat having Strokers and Cummins all in one place. As one might expect, the TDR membership was out in force, BOMBing numerous trucks right there in the parking lot.

Just a quick thanks to HVAC and his Performance diesel crew, along with the guys from Edge - quite a helpful bunch of guys, good talking to all of you. Sign me up for next year, and bring on the smoke - I'm ready to do it all over again. By the way Dennis, I should have left with you, I'd have a lot more money left in the bank. Take care all,

Craig Johnson

Well I was there, but didn't get to see any of the pulls (bummer). I was at the Amsoil booth all day on Sunday, but I did see alot of our fellow TDR members out in force, and by all the people that stopped by to ask questions, most were TDR/Dodge owners. We did sell some product to the PSD guys n gals also, great bunch of folks. I asked some why did they buy a PSD instead of Dodge, and 90% said 4 doors, go figure. Dodge GET WITH IT. Till next time (December DieselFest) Happy Bombing.

For you guys that didn't stay on sunday:

Adam did well, broke his trailer hitch very bad and went shooting off the sled, so it was over, but what a run until then. Adam, laura, brian, and I caravaned back to the north bay together. . boy i'd never let her drive my rig if it had that much power!! No offense Adam. . but she almost through it into reverse on the freeway. . i saw reverse lights go on and I almost I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER a brick. . anyway, Sunday was cool!!! Look forward to next year

Seems there is some interest in the outcome of the October Showdow in Tulare, CA, and there hasn't been a ton of talk about it. I was only there on Saturday, lots of vendors, good people and some fun at the tractor pulls. As for the results, my understanding is that Adam broke his hitch on Sunday which finished his chances. Sounds like the Fords were able to pull a little further. Let me just say this, and I'm not making excuses here - It was more than obvious which trucks were making the power - all CUMMINS. As somebody else already mentioned, some of those big, crew cab Fords had a lot more weight than The Dodges. In sled pulling, traction is half the battle and weight plays a big part in it. Anyone who was there I'm sure would agree, much more impressive watching Adam and some of the other Cummins powered trucks than any of the Fords - And hey, I don't have anything against Fords - they just don't make as much power.
Anyway, I'm not sure what the official resulst were, as I left Sat. night. But considering there were very few rules and this was mostly an exhibition, I have to consider this a success. At any rate - it was a lot of fun.
I'm ready to go again!

What an AWSOME event #ad
. This was my first outing with all the "ramnuts" (as my wife would call us) and what a great time #ad
. I couldn’t believe all the B. O. M. B. ing going on all over the place #ad
. Even did a little B. O. M. B. ing of my own. Thanks Brett. Glad you enjoyed the home cooken #ad
The pulls were a blast and somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that Adam TQed his class on Saturday with a 274 pull. Then, he lent his hitch to a PSD guy who broke it trying the SHIFT during a pull LOL. I thought the whole rear end was going to come flying out of that PSD LOL. Anyway, Adam had a difficult time tiring to pull without his hitch. Now, I don’t know much about sled pulling, but it just makes sense to have the correct hitch to do the job right. In other words, WE WERE SABOTAGED #ad
LOL. After that, Piers came out and pulled the snot out of the sled man, I think he pulled something like 293. I didn’t think he was ever going to stop #ad
. Wayda go Mr. Piers #ad
