Australia is nearing complete barren territory with regards to auto manufacturing. A good friend in NSW has been sending me info about all OEMs pulling out within the next couple of years.....not rumors as the announcements are directly from Toyota, ford and gm. I could totally see the Chinese filling the auto void.

Cost of labor down there? I was there and they were pumping out Fords and Holdens like crazy.

Complex causes. Labour cost, low import tariffs, tiny domestic market. Been a tough time for Aussie manufacturing.
