Replacing the fuel filter yesterday, I neglected to refill the canister or bump the starter before attempting to fire her up. I realized my mistake when it started and ran for about 2 seconds, then died.
I bumped the starter a few times and verified that fuel was spewing out of the banjo bolt at the injection pump. I tried to start, but my batteries had (by this time - about 30 seconds of cranking) been depleted.
After replacing the batteries, it fired right up. However, now I've got codes 1693 and 0230. I realize that 1693 is a companion code, but 0230 is related to the lift pump ("Transfer Pump (Lift Pump) Circuit Out of Range", according to my service manual).
After my initial cycle-three-times, the check engine light no longer comes on, and the truck seems to run just fine.
Question: is the 0230 code just an artifact of running it dry? Should I be worried about it, or should I just ignore it until I see it again?
