Ran the overhead

I have about 1500 miles on the new motor probably should have ran the overhead sooner but only a couple of valves were a little tight everything else was right on . Going to change the oil one more time now and then run it probably 10,000 then switch to regular engine oil

Curious, if you had a couple valves tight doesn't that mean they were tight when the engine was built?

Set them all to 20 thou and 10 . They always need an adjustment after an overhaul.

What are you using now and what is regular oil?

haven’t decided Just what regular oil will be . John Deere has a 5 40 full synthetic have ran shell t6 in the past . Probably John Deere full synthetic since it’s always on the shelf . . John Deere break in oil has a change interval of 500 hours .

Exhaust valves always get tighter as the valves and seats wear.

Thanks. Didn’t think about the valves settling in!

My Son adjusted my 01 to .08 and .18 when he installed my 275 Bosch Injectors at around 135k.
