Competition 1000 HP Fuel only street truck! Proof on the way..

Competition Truck & Tractor pull Aug. 11th Lafayette TN!

I ran the beast at edgewater last night. This was the trucks first trip there.

I could only get a best of 15. 907 @ 91. 01 (10. 461 @ 72. 78 1/8 mile) and most passes were 16. 1 to 16. 4 secs

The best trap speed was the 16. 168 at 91. 53 mph. (10. 693 @ 70. 93 1/8 mile )

I weigh about 8400 lbs

The turbo is putting out 39 psi by the # on the TST box. It is way burying the autometer guage though (back to near zero). Is the tst box controlled as to the display?

With the edge ez, tst pmcr, ats manifold, sps66 turbo and open exaust I expected to do a lot better. Really. Am I dillusional here?? It feels a LOT faster on the street just getting on it here and there.

The hp based on trap speed works to just 430 wheel hp, and 537 engine hp.

this is assuming a 20% drivetrain loss

I want to be in the low 13's with my truck. What else has been tried and true?

It takes alot to make a 13 second 6 spd. I have nailed a best of 15. 3@96. Talk to banshee on here, he has a CR 6spd running 12. 6! They pull like a low 13 second truck but getting the 60ft times down is where its all at.

I have never been to a 1/4 mile track since stock (16. 5 stock). But based on my 9. 2 1/8, I should be just above 14. 1 in the 1/4 based on the math.

I have stock turbo, just a edge hot juice and ez. And to boot, I bet I coudl get 9. 0 in the 1/8 now that I figured out that I shouldn't of been running low boost fueling on 4 or 5, but rather 1. that helped ALOT down low. seat of hte pants noticable. turbo spools much faster, even for a stocker.

I'm at 7000# with driver according to my cat scales print outs when I'm at the track. Remove tail gate, spare, tools, anything loose, I left in one of the batteries due to time contrants, that's atleast 60+ pounds.

How are you at 8400? you have that much crap in your truck? :)

I think the key here is launch and shifting speed for you guys that can't get a 500hp truck at 7000-7400#'s into the 14's. Don't worrie, beat on the transmission, it won't break. :)

i don't know how i'm at 8400, maybe being a DUALLY has something to do with it. Maybe the fact i weigh 300 lbs might have something to do with it.

Funny how the curb weights DO NOT COMPUTE from dodge.com vs what the CAT scales tell me

NO driver, + full tank should put my truck at 7200#'s for my long box. Now when they spec out 6725 for a 4x4 quad long box (dunno about dually), does that include fuel and fluids? How can a 06 weight almost 500pounds LESS then my 04. 5?

So we add in 200#'s in fuel to the 06, ok. so 6925#s. What happened to that last 275? Who's wrong? CAT? or dodge?

E7mack96, as for your deal, so add 100#s more for you. Each wheel should be about 150#'s + some for the sheel metal. Do you think, assuming you do not have any tools and stuff in the truck, no stereo or anything,. do you think that adds up to over 8000#'s? that seems odd.

Hit up a cat scale with the same fuel and stuff and for $7 get it weighted in.

Wot

The only thing I could add to your conversation is drive it like you stole it, my best time with my truck at Edinburg TX was 15. 04. The ONLY thing that helped me get that time was just not caring about if I broke or not. Thats the last time I will ever do the 1/4 mile with my truck like that but hey if you want to get the best out of the truck you just cant care what happens to it and push the envelope... . Just my $. 02 guys :D ... . Jeremy

Local guy ran his megacab through at a 14. 38 @ 93 mph with nothing but a crazy larry and a 2. 04 60 foot. He was somehow using his emergency brake to build boost against before launching and the stock clutch was really stinking. He ran 9. 30 in the 1/8.

Using the formula printed in the TDR from the past I get 413 hp using you et and 502 hp using your mph. These are flywheel numbers.

You need a better launch and if your going to leave it at 8400#, you will need at least 675 flywheel hp to run 13. 5.

I've pondered making a remote parking brake release switch, so I don't have to get like a pretzel to release it.
