IMHO They are the best. Basically every other truck in Texas has a set of Ranch Hands.

These type bumpers started showing up in Texas about 30 years ago in the Hill Country and West Texas. "neccessity is the mother of invention". Texas cattle ranches are all fitted with "bump gates"... and you basically ram into them and they swing open, hence the name. Also, because it would be your "hand" that would typically jump out of the truck to open the gate for you! and there are so many deer, hogs, etc on the highways in rural areas they needed something beefy up front to negate the damage from hitting animals. You CAN hit a full grown deer at 70mph with a Ranch Hand and not damage the bumper or your truck.

I purchased my 97 used and it had the Ranch Hands (big plus when buying used). Thick, heavy, very well made, bullet proof.

You can't go wrong with these bumpers. You can buy cheaper stuff but I don't think you will find anything better. BTW, have a chain fall standing by to install them. . lol.

Yea I was in town today and saw the new trucks. Dodge finally got smart. The front bumper is now all steel. We second Gen guys got screwed by Dodge with all the plastic crap on the front bumper. I wish I knew who the designer was. The way I feel right now i would like to see how far up his rear end I could shove the plastic pieces. They last two years here in our desert sun before they are faded and look like CRAP!
