I just ordered some Rancho 5000 shocks for the truck. What a crap shoot. Here are the p/ns that were given to me for my truck. Fronts are 5221s, and these are suppose to be for the 8800gvw. The rear p/ns are 5198s and again are suppose to be for the 8800gvw. I did a search on p/ns in the forums and someone said that the fronts were 5197. The parts house said these are not for the 8800gvw. My search showed a p/n of 5225 for the rears, an again the parts house said that these were not for the 8800gvw. I looked at the Rancho Application charts and both are listed for the truck. I also have a email into Rancho Tech Service, but won't find out anything until next week. Are the part numbers for my truck, see profile below, correct if they are front p/n 5221 and rear p/n5198? As you can see this is easy to get confused. Any help is appreciated.

I don't understand you, you have a computer, thats obvious, so why don't you go to the RANCHO web site, educate yourself, then with part numbers in hand, seek a vendor? why put yourself through the crap, this way you know you have the correct parts.

Sorry guys, I meant to get back to this thread before this with answer to what I found out. I used RS5000s on the front and the correct part number is 5221. I went to 9000s on the rear and the correct part number is 99274, which are listed on the parts list as a GM rear shock. These were verified by the Tech Support at Rancho as being the correct ones for my truck, see profile, and 8800 gvw.

As for you y-not, I did do a search of threads, I went to the Rancho website and thats why the question was listed in this thread. The part numbers in threads are given by different people were not consistent. The part numbers listed on the Rancho website, which you must not have gone to, are not the ones that I ended up with based on correct info from Rancho Tech support. The part number for the rear shock that I got from the dealer was not the one for the 8800gvw. It was a weekend and I was trying to get good info from this site that usually is availabe. So y-not if you didn't have anything valuable to contribute, don't add any s**t. If you don't know anything, don't say anything. Guys like you don't add anything here, and you basically **** me off. So KMA. I'm sure Steve will nail me for this, but I had to say it.

FMJ,

Two bad you got all messed up over this, you must be experiencing those monthly pains? The RANCHO web site has the correct info, you would have needed. That is why I posted it for you, sounds like you look my post the wrong way. Too bad, it was meant to be informative, not derogative. When someone says to educate yourself, that does not mean one thinks you are ignorant, just not well informed. When you get made and act a fool, then one knows your ignorant, sorry.

Well you and I seem to be at odds over what the origional thread question was about. If you were given the origional part numbers from a parts house and had done a search of threads in the forum, all coming up with different part numbers, only a fool would just accept the parts house numbers. As I said, I went to the website, and there are different part numbers for the RAM and the part numbers that I was getting from the parts house were for a GM. Wouldn't you question that, and where better than on the forums? I had the tech support number, and since it was the weekend, wasn't doing me any good. The parts order was getting placed on Monday morning and I wanted any and all information I could get to make sure the right shocks were ordered. You state that your reply was meant to be informative? You seem good with quips, but supply no part numbers or any other substantial information. So your reply did nothing. My point was that since you didn't have anything to help, as I had already went to the website and did search, you only added zero. You and I will problably never see eye to eye on this, so lets call it quits.
