Just got done (well an hour ago) installing Rancho's on my 1 ton DRW. Install went smooth, had to lower the spare for more room. But no biggie. The front rubber bushings were a little different than the oem's. I'll keep an eye on those. Everything fit well though.

I know some will wonder why not 9000's?? The shop I bought them from recommended these for my truck since it's not 4x4, and I don't haul or tow much, or off-road. I checked Rancho's web site, these were listed for my truck so that's why.

Anyhoo, the truck absolutely rides like a dream over the worn out oem shocks. (duh:D )

Best of all I saved some money over the 9000's. . :-laf

sorry so long... ... .....

:( Hi, I've had a coulpe of trucks I tried the RANCHO RS 5000's on, the last one was my 97' 3500. I put them on too get rid of the boat like ride that the stock one provided, along with the body roll in turns. They seemed to take care of everything pretty well, but it need last to long. Within 8 months the fronts were leaking and shot. I replaced them with bilstein's, they were alittle rougher on the ride, but took care of all the cornering issues, and the boat ride. I left the rear RS 5000's on, but since I use air bags they don't really get used. I suspect they are also gone. I had poor luck with them on my other trucks but like a hard head I went with them again, I guess I was determind to give them the bennif of the doubt. My father also used them on his ranger (after I sold him on them), and they didn't last to long there eighter, oh well we tried. I don't want to knock RANCHO, I have used some of there other products (lift kit for chevy, tracktion bars, ect. ) and they were great, but I will not recomend there RS 5000's. They do come with a life time garrentee, but I do not fell like replaceing bad shocks with more bad shocks, so in the garbage they went. Maybe there RS9000x would be ok, I don't know, and probally won't find out. I would be interrested in finding out how long your set last? So please check in and up-date after 6-8 months.
