Randome TC Lockup no TPS

Recently, my torque converter will sporadically lock, sometimes stalling the engine, then it won't do it for a month, then come back. I have no TPS, as I replaced it with a potentiometer several years ago. I also have an ATS lockup Commander which also let's me know when the TC locks up. Does anyone know if an apps noise insulator would have any effect if there is no TPS. I just replaced the alternator, but don't know if it could have an effect. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
