I'm not positive on this, but I think I am going to need to replace the range position sensor/switch on my '07.

When we disconnected the electrical plug on the driver's side of the transmission last week, the inside of the connector was full of ATF.

I would appreciate some help/info regarding this part: the part no. , where to buy one at a reasonable price and the basics of replacing it.

I have been told that if this part leaks and gets bad enough that it can cause the truck not to start, so I don't want to risk being out in the middle of Nevada and having that problem.

Thanks!

Clean up the connector very good with brake clean or something similar. If it has been leaking long enough it can push fluid quite a way up the wires.

Thanks for the tip.
I haven't bought the part yet, not really sure where to find it online. Any leads on sources besides the dealer? I looked at Geno's, but it does not look like they cary it. Normally, I just go to NAPA or CarQuest or Schuck's O'Reilly.
