Maybe I am not looking in the right places, but I have searched a bunch of parts houses online for a replacement range position sensor with no luck.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

I don't know, but I sort of doubt it. I searched using the words "range position sensor" and "automatic transmission range position sensor" and "automatic transmission parts" and got nowhere... ... . but then again, it's a computer, so who knows?
I do admit to being "technologically challenged".

I'm not certain... ..... when I had it in the shop last week, the guys looked it up on their parts screen and told me it was the "range position sensor/switch" and told me the price was $300+... ... ... now I wonder if their price list was off by 1 decimal point... . ??
I wish your link had a picture. This thing is on the driver's side of the trans and the electrical plug is sort of flat and there are several (5 or 6?) connections in it. When I unplugged it during trans removal, it was full of ATF, so it is leaking from the trans case thru the "sensor" and into the electrical connection plug.

Thank you to all of you guys!
I think I will make a trip to the dealer and see if the part is in stock. I won't be able to install it until next week, but I'll feel better if I have it in the truck with me until then.

Here is what happened.
I was helping to unbolt and pull the transmission in the process of installing an aftermarket torque converter/flex plate and some other parts. I unplugged the range position sensor (or other name depending on who's parts list you view). When I unplugged it, I found the plug was full of ATF... . so I sort of suspected that was not the way things should be.
A few days later, when I had the truck in the dyno shop, the back-up lights came on when we shifted into Park. The dyno shop guys diagnosed the problem to this sensor; however their price sheet gave a price of $300+. I am guessing their price sheet was "off" by a decimal point.
Anyhow, the issue with the back-up lights has not repeated, but I was told that eventually if enough ATF contaminates the electrical connects that it could cause a "no start" situation. This would not be a good thing to happen in the middle of Nevada.

Just got home from a trip to the local Dodge dealer. They did not have the part in stock, but offered to sell me one for $56+ shipping+ tax and get it next week. I declined their kind offer. I'll either buy online or visit a different dealer next week to see if they have it in stock.

I replaced one today for a leak and another tech did one too. So yes it is pretty common and a dealer that does much work should have at least one in stock. It fits quite a few different vehicles

I was in Twin Falls.
We'll be headed to Reno in a couple of days, but thanks for the lead; I did get one ordered online and it should arrive soon.
