What is the ratio of your miles driven to hours of operation? Mine is 19123 miles and I have 487 hours on the meter. That gives me an average speed of 39. 27 MPH.

You can check the hours by turning the ignition switch on, do not start, hold the trip/millage button down a few seconds and you will see the hours. You will lose your trip millage as it will be reset to zero.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way!!!!

19050 with only 189 hrs. showing= 100. 79 MPH:eek: :--) Well actually I have to add 290 hrs. to it because of the replaced instrument cluster that had to be replaced 'cuz of st***er screwing up the original Still equals 39. 77 MPH :D Also the odometer does not reset if you hold the button till hrs. appear!!!

When I checked mine it reset the trip mileage only not the odometer millage. Might be a way to do it without resetting the trip millage?

Make sure when you start the display is on the odometer, not on the trip. If it's showing trip mileage when you depress the button it'll reset the trip instead of showing hours.

Sorry, didn't have them handy at the time...

As of my last fill-up I had 9548 miles and 291 hours, for 32. 8 MPH average. I'm 25 years old and apparently I drive like an 80 year old. I normally run 67-72 on the highway, and most of my mileage is highway.

Oh man, 32. 8 is embarassing.

I don't think it has as much to do with the speed you normally drive as to the distance between stops. If most of your driving is in the west you travel many miles without a stop. In the east and north you have to stop frequently because of traffic, etc.

I have 4:10 gearing and drive 60-65, mostly 60. I never let my truck idle to warm up and I shut down within 5 minutes of my arrival at destination.

Thanks for the input. :)

39. 49 avg. mph

I have been wondering, since we have the hour meter, would it make more sense to set our oil, filter, and fuel filter changes by the hour?

I do believe it would make more sense to set engine filter changes by the hour instead of mileage, but establishing standards might be difficult.

well, my avg mph is about 40 so divide that into 7500 and I come up with changing oil and filter every 187. 5 hours and fuel filter (which I do every 10,000), every 250 hours

So I think I'd be pretty safe changing oil and filter every 200 hours and fuel every 250.

With winter well on it's way, meaning more idle time, it may be a great time to switch.

Well, I change at 3000 miles, which happens to work out to about every 90 hours on average. My first and only fuel filter replacement occurred just before 300 hours. I have been thinking about replacing the fuel filter every 300 hours.

Well, my milage is at 19,308 and my hours are 531, so that turns out to be 36. 36 average MPH so I guess I don't drive too fast, Huh?

Right now my cluster shows 34,217 miles and 308 hours--that works out to 111 MPH! :D  ;)

Of course, that doesn't take into account that when the dealer re-flashed my cluster at 433 hours, they restored the mileage but not the hourmeter. 34,217 miles with 308+433 hours only works out to 46 MPH :(
