I have an 03 quad cab 4x4, and for some reason, I am getting a creak in the rear of the truck, I have checked the cab bolts and can't find anything. Please help!
Under what circumstances does it occur? When hitting RR crossings and potholes? When turning into an uneven driveway that puts torsional stress on the frame? Mine sure is tight and quiet compared to the 2001, which creaked and groaned whenever I drove over really uneven surfaces.
The only time it happens is when I go over uneven places, such as turning in and out of the drive, or even turning into a parking place. I have looked at everything I can think of. Thanks for any help. Shannon
Shannon, have you tried the bed bolts? On the shortbeds there are 6 bolts, one on each side toward cab and two per side at the rear end. It is sort of a steady sqeak/creak or a louder grinding sort of sound like two parts rubbing on each other hard? Where does it sound like it's coming from?
Is your rig 4x4 or 4x2? Mine is the same as yours, 3500 shortbed, mines 2-wheel drive.
