2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Rattle noise from front end

I hear it (sounds like metal-on-metal) when I drive over bumps and expansion joints in the roads. It's not loose brake pads; I tried it while braking, and still heard the noise. New shocks didn't help. All suspension components are stock and original (old). Which ones should I round up as likely suspects?

I dont know yet but if you figre it out let me know as I have the same noise

I know you replaced the shocks, but make sure the lower attach bolt is tight. "Unload" the shock by pressing or prying it up slightly and try to shake it fwd and aft. If you can that's it. I don't have any other idea for you, but I just resolve this problem myself.

Have you checked the block heater plug? Drove me nuts for 2 weeks, like you I thought it was metal on metal.
