I have a 96 12V 2500 2WD.

It has an annoying rattle that sounds like a loose shock but the shocks seem tight. Has anyone had this and found what it is?

Thanks

knock knock

I have a 96 one ton. when I first got it , it had an annoying knock in the front end that occured while on a pot holed rd.

It was the lower end of the shocks that where not pinched tight enough and moving on the bolts, retorqed GONE

Those kinds of noises can be tough to find

I usually start by finding a section of quiet road where the noise happens. Then I drive with my door open to try and isolate what section of the truck the noise is comming from - front, back, left side , right side, etc... Don't do this on the freeway :D

Once I have an area to work on, I get a big rubber hammer and roll under the truck and start whacking stuff till I hear the noise. Don't laugh it works :p

Sometimes it takes a friend to help by bouncing up and down on one of the bumpers while i'm under listening. best done while parked... :D
