rb4 nav to rb1 nav

I have an rb1 navigation head unit I installed in my Ram 3500 today and it does not have any sound coming from the speakers. My factory installed rb4 navigation with Sirius worked as it should. I reinstalled it after I found I had no sound. The rb1 work with the Sirius radio an displayed song names and am/fm stations. The gps antenna plug was different though. I reinstalled the rb1 back into my Grand Cherokee and worked as it should. Has anyone done this switch or run across this problem? I was told it was a simple switch. Thanks

Tried to get the new touchscreen nav unit in my 09 3500 but the computer will not recognize it so they are putting an REC nav unit in. When I inquired about installing it myself they told me that I could but the computer might need to be "flashed" in order for it to recognize the new unit.



Sounds like you might have to take it to the ******* after all.

I have the RB4 piece of junk in my 04. 5. I got an IPOD from Santa and have discovered that I can't adapt the RB4 work the IPOD. It will take another aftermarket radio and Cd player to use the IPOD. Also because it has the infinity sound system installed with the RB4 they will have to rewire the speakers to bypass the infinity amplfier to get the speakers to work. Thank you Dodge and Becker Harmon International who made the RB4 I am told. Piece of junk.

did some looking

I found some info on the internet. The rb1 will work with the infinity system but has to be a newer model rb1. That is where my problem is my rb1 is too old of a unit. Viper if I were you I would find a newer model rb1 so you can have you factory system intact AND use your ipod. This website was useful RB1 & RB4

Hope that helps you. One more thing I found some guys online that are changing the first screen to say all sorts of things Im thinking a Cummins C logo!!!
