I am doing a truck swap with a friend this week and one issue his truck has is the very poor sound quality issue on the front door speakers (both). They seem to have too much bass that is almost always distorted.

Is this simply blow speakers or is the Infinity AMP or head unit to blame?

I am aware of the leade reversal TSB. I don't think it is that.

All help is much appreciated.

Wow, I thought I was the only one that had that issue. luckily I've got an extended cab that i can roll the tunes to the back speakers and still have descent quality, but I need to figure out this problem as well. I chalked it up to poor quality speakers (cause you know it can't possibly be my fault) and that I just needed to replace them. Honestly I haven't tried troubleshooting this problem, but I will try to tackle it this winter. If you find anything out, I would be interested.
Thanks,

Andrew

One thing to look at is wire hookup, there is a plus and minus and if they are reversed can cause sound problems. Also doors are terrible enclosures for speakers, try putting a sound baffle or enclosure behind them and maybe upgrade speakers.
