Rusty, so what you are saying is that I should get the hitch I saw on CL? Sounds like the B & W is a top quality hitch.

Barring damage from abuse, etc. , I wouldn't be afraid of a Companion hitch that's seen 2 years of use. Bear in mind that I can't look at it in person, so my comments are in general terms. That's JMHO, of course.

The urethane pivot that the hitch pivots on would be my concern, if not lubed with a white grease when needed, can tear them up. I don't remember if they are replaceable, and now that I'm done for the night, I take a look tomorrow and see.

Thanks for all the input guys. I am supposed to meet with the guy on Weds to take a look at it. i will post more later.

The base is slightly different then the base for pickup beds, because of the B&W flat bed I have.
I uploaded some pics to show the difference between the flat bed version I have, and the regular bed version. The flat bed version on the bottom is what I have, and it would be an extra cost if you have to buy the regular bed base. Just thought I would show you the difference so you can make an informed decision. As you look up the throat, you can see the how thick the locking jaws are.
