Hello all,

I have not been around for a while so I need yall's help. I am currently looking at relinquishing my prodigal status of F**d PSD owner and am looking at buying a new Ram..... yes I have seen the error of my ways. This is what I intend to buy. A Ram 3500 quad cab with the HO engine, six speed transmission, 4 wheel drive and almost all of the bells and whistles. I also want the 3:54 rear end. Is the 3:54 available with the anti-spin again yet? Are there any burning issues that I need to be concerned with? I am also interested in information on the availability of the Ram 4 door in the 2003 model... . is this fact or fiction?? Would it be worth the wait to hold out for the 4 door?

I dont think that the Ford PSD is junk, but I'm glad to see that youre getting the superior diesel. I just traded my '99 CTD auto for a '01 5spd, and I could'nt be happier. My new rig has the 3. 54s, and it also has the limited slip. The only concern I that I can see with the HOs, is the high EGTs. I drove both the HO and the 5spd, and I opted for the 5spd. Either one will be a good choice.

My 2 pennies worth.

That F**d must have gotten under your skin fast if it is only an 01. The Cummins will treat you right no matter what you decide option wise. :D

Hey, Big A I just moved from Parker to Elizabeth, good to see a fellow CO member of the TDR. I'm still a rookie here though.

The present body design and engine configuration have been proven over many a mile. They will be changing a few things on the 2003 Cummins(common rail inj. , EGR pollution stuff, etc. ) As for the 4 door crew cab all the sneaky photo's show it to be like the new 2002 1500. If you buy now I think there still are some rebates and incentives. LOL

Yes you can get LSD in the 3. 54 (see sig). I agree with Double 6 that you can get one cheap now before they change the body style. It sure would be nice to have a crew cab, but I couldn't wait another year.

Cheap, let me tell you about cheap. My dealer offered one of my customers a 2001/2500 CTD/Auto QC Laramie for $26,000. I have the invoice on my desk. Camper and tow packages and limited slip. Retail is $32,430... ..... invoice is $29,345 and with all the incentives and part of the dealer hold back he got it down to $26K!... ... . Stack'n 'em deep and sell'n cheap!!... . he's also got a white and silver QC/SB in an auto if you are bent that direction.

Thanks for all of the input guys..... I knew the devoted Ram Cummins owners would come through for me. Keep the input coming. I have not had the opportunity to see the new 1500 4 door in person yet but the pictures sure do make it look a lot smaller than the F**d I am currently driving. Are the pictures deceiving or is that not just a quad cab with the rear doors turned around and maybe an inch or two more floor space? Hearing about lots of incentives sure is making this look like a no brainer decision. I sure have missed my Ram for the last six months and I am ready to be back in one.
