So the overhead display (EVIC) supposedly might say "Catalyst Full See Owner Man".

And the "for customer removal only" black cardboard note (#53041156AA) says a few brief words about "your new Cummins 6. 7L diesel", "ULSD fuel", "Low-Ash oil", "Catalyst system", etc.

I mean a FEW brief words.

There is also the statement that "Your Owners Manual provides a more detailed description of the driving styles which could create this condition (failure to burn off trapped polutants), etc. "

Well, NO, IT DOESN'T!

In fact nowhere could I find ANYTHING related to these topics, ... only a reference to the fine "5. 9L" Cummins diesel I might have.

494 pages with ZERO mention of ULSD, low-ash, DPF, catalyst, regeneration, 6. 7L, "what to do if", ... etc.

Detailed description, my %$$! Not even a vague one!

The bottom of the same card says "For additional information refer to your Owner's Manual"

Right!

Anybody get an '07. 5/6. 7L OM with some real information in it? Does such a thing exist?

The one I have says "Dodge Ram Truck Diesel, 2007 Owner's manual, 81-326-0728 First edition.

Thank Zeus for TDR.

This kind of thing from a major manufacturer steams me! $50 grand for a truck with no relevant info in the OM? My hands are itchin' for a throat!

I am pretty sure that the owner's manuals do not come with the truck, but that it is the dealer's responsiblity to provide the correct manual from a stack of them in the sales office with the delivery paperwork. They may have given you the wrong manual.

Wrong... ... ... . the owners manual and warranty book etc are all shipped in the truck. Now the dealer may remove it and place it in a jacket that a wayward saleman may grab to give to someone else :-laf

Way too many people giving opinions here as fact ;)

I will bet the first edition is the problem... ... ... ... ... When a new vehicle hits the showrooms very few have any accurate info. Even the training centers have outdated info from pre release training they got. In this just in time delivery world we live in things change very rapidly.

Get a life. I said "I am pretty sure that the owner's manual... ". How do you interpert that as stating "fact" as opposed to "opinion"? If no one was allowed to state their opinion on this fourm, it would be a pretty boring place. If my comments were in error, then so be it, but lighten up dude.

6.7L manuals

FYI I have a third edition owner's manual. I also got a 4th edition warranty information manual as well. Iam not sure when the truck was built but I bought it on June 1. It was assembled in St Louis.

Wolfy, I was unfortunately given a "first edition" owners manula also, which does not even mention the 6. 7 L engine / 68RFE. A call to the dealer and a third edition manual was overnighted to me with apologies. The third edition manual does not supply nearly as much info on the emissions system as your dissertation in the other thread.
