Has anyone rear wheel dynoed a 235hp 6BT with an auto (01' or newer) ??

I'm looking for real #'s with a stock engine and stock auto.

And I'm looking for real #'s with 275's and an EZ combo, again with the stock auto.

I've read plenty of posts on what it "should" dyno at.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

craig

Obviously not !! I know what it should dyno at, but no one has posted #'s after actually having their truck on a chasis dyno. Soooooooooooooooooo, I guess I'm still looking for an answer.

thanks

Trucks are going to put up different numbers, my truck and ToolMan's truck at one time were set up the same, his truck made 20 more HP than mine.

Dyno your truck stock. An EZ is very easy to plug in. Dyno again and see what power you gain. As I said each truck will vary.

I made 6 pulls, 3 without the EZ, and 3 with. Without the EZ my best Hp was 202. 8 and the Torque was 406. 8.

With the EZ hooked up my best HP was 227. 2 and the torque was 480. 3

At first glance I was disappointed with my overall gain, but after studying the Dyno sheets this is what I found:

At 2200 RPM without the box My Hp was 145. 5 and Tq was 347. 3

W/the Ez @2200 Hp was 219 and the TQ was 480. 3 thats a gain of 58. 5Hp and 141. 2 tq

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Thanks all. I guess my stock dyno runs aren't that bad off then. The best pull was 152hp 388tq

Its true that you lose 20-28% thru your driveline, if you got an auto, right ??

craig

You lose a percentage through the driveline, and altitude.

Other variables are the Dyno itself, the operator, engine temperatrue, weather and so on.

152hp sounds way low for your truck. I have an '02 version of your model and kicked out 200 in stock form.

How's your fuel pressure? Any drivability problems? Was the transmission locked and what gear was it in?

Dave

My fuel pressures are a little low: 10psi idle 5-6psi WOT

Yes my transmission was locked up, I'm in the process of ordering a TC and VB and I'm anxious to run it again in stock form with the transmission upgrades. What's got me, is the torque seemed to be pretty decent for a stock auto truck 388 ft/lbs. Would the low fuel pressures rob me of HP ?? Any other thoughts of things to check into ??

that's just a 10% loss. These are autos ?? Those are awesome #'s for a manual with the 235hp engine.

craig

Yes, both autos... also assuming the engines made only the rated 235hp. I have seen an ETH truck (rated 245hp) make 247hp on the dyno in stock trim.
