I would like to hear from some members what your getting for fuel economy with gearing combo !

Just took a trip to Miami with my new 2014 2500 crew cab longbed 4x4 (empty) and got "hand calculated"

21.83mpg cruising at 68-70 mph 3.42 gearing.

My 13 is pretty much the same as your 14 truck. I have not run it unloaded enough to get a feel for the mileage. Almost all my first 9000 miles are with a 5000 lb Airstream. The hand calc average is 15.1 MPG.
The truck without the trailer as it normally sits, Cap, 50 gallons extra fuel and lots of tools weighs 9300 lbs without me in it.
The fuel economy appears to be about .7 mpg lower than my 2wd 99. Considering the increased power and weight that is pretty impressive

Just hit 25k miles in my 13 CCLB 4wd dually 3.73 gears. Only about 3k towing miles. Truck weighs 9600#. Average of 15.3 so far overall. 9.5-10 towing 11k 5er @ 70-75mph.

Not hand calculated, but I just averaged 10.4 and 10.5 as shown on the EVIC over two trips of about 1,500 and 2,500 miles with my BRAND NEW 2014 (had 325 miles when I started the first trip) towing a 12,000lb 33' 5th wheel all over the mountain west (CA; UT; ID; WY; MT). I'm assuming it's pretty accurate as most of the "truck test" the articles seem to say...

My souped up 2004 got about 11mpg doing the same kind of towing. Though at about 60 instead of 70mph! All the computer operated stuff drives me nuts, but I sure like the engine and the exhaust brake.

I have a little over 6K and the electronic read out says I'm getting 19-20mpg. Hand calc says 18. Pulling the trailer, it's 11-11.5. Too early, as it's not broken in, but no complaints.

2012 2500 Crew Cab with 6.5' bed 4x4

Gears are 4.10

Around town i get 14
empty highway under 70 I'll average on a log trip (full tank on the interstate) 20
towing a 12,000lbs Mid Height 5th wheel highway 13-14 (under 65mph)

3 fill ups in a row that averaged 19.2 MPG empty going to work 26 miles each way mostly on the highway at 70MPH.
9 to 12 MPG while towing our pontoon boat at 70 MPH.
We are very happy with this truck.
