Banks Sidewinder Posts Top Speed of 222. 139 MPH

Banks Sidewinder, the World’s First Diesel Sport Truck, is now officially the World’s Fastest Pickup Truck too! Project Sidewinder made its debut at the Bonneville Salt Flats Oct. 16th, pulling its own trailer of spare parts and pit equipment. With nothing more than a change to racing tires, Don Alexander drove the street-legal Sidewinder to a new International Land Speed Record of 182. 612 MPH, with a peak speed of 192. 608 MPH on the first day. After a bit of race tuning during the event, the Sidewinder broke its own record with a two-way average of 217. 314 MPH, and a peak speed of 222. 139 MPH! You can read all about these impressive speed runs - and what it took to build this Cummins-powered rocket - at www.bankspower.com Check it out!

Competition Forum

There's already a thread in the Competition Forum that Banks started with all the details :)

What's with these Pasco people?? :D :D

ps Kent Earnest and I are planning to stop by this afternoon

Please goto the Competition forum and participate in that discussion.

Locking this one here, no reason to have duplicate thread on the exact same subject, too confusing to keep up with. And technically since its a common rail engine its out of place in this forum anyhow.
