I saw this a couple days back. I'm convinced there is more to this story. No way the driver of the tractor drove for that long without knowing an auto was there.....
Not the brightest bulb in the shed for sure. BUT it appears to be a long sweeping curve to the right which would cut his visibility to the second pup. Plus a Peterbilt has crappy visibility. I have driven them and with a left hand exhaust it is awful...
The guy should still find a new career....I say that mainly due to his reaction when they stopped him, mine would have been quite different as I would have already been out the door to see what was going on...took him a good 30 seconds to even set the maxi brakes....
We had an incident about 20 years ago during a snowstorm on I-95 where an out of state couple were driving way too fast for the conditions and rear ended a tractor trailer. The driver of the car died on impact but his wife survived. The wreckage of the car was entangled in the trailers ICC bumper and was dragged along for several miles. The truck driver could not see due to blowing snow and it took awhile for people to safely get by to get him stopped. He had felt a jolt but figured it was a rough spot in the road. I can only imagine what the wife experienced in that car with the blowing snow and noises....
