Rear axle dimensions

Are the axles on the 1 ton dual wheel trucks the same axles as the axles on the 1 ton single wheel trucks? I am going to put a flatbed on my next truck but I do not want duals. The rims would have to change to line up with the front tires obviously. Any experiance with swapping the rims out,anybody. Or comments?

They are the same in that they are both AAM 11. 5s. What i don't know is if they have the same length axle tubes. I'm thinking they are, but you might have to crawl under to check for sure.

The axle tubes are shorter on the dually to give more clearance for the wheels.
