So while I was doing my brakes I had the whole rear axle off the ground. Now I don't have a lot of experience with limited slip rear ends but I know for sure that with an open diff if you turn one wheel the other wheel on the axle will turn in the oposite direction. When I had the rear axle up I could not turn the wheels of the truck at all!

This is a Dana 70 in a 2500 auto 1999. Could there be something wrong with the diff? Could the limited slip cause this type of behavior. When I tried to turn the wheels the drive shaft was trying to turn. Oh and no the park brake was not set, I had the drums off in fact.

Thanks,

Ira

:) Like shovelhead says... IF you have any kind of locking diff, both wheels will turn the same way, Non locking they will spin in opposite directions.
