Hi all! I recently bought an '89 W250 w/CTD, and after the 2in lift (tired springs) and

the 285/75R16 tires my next mod is a posi. But I have noticed alot of dust/oil around the

inner left rim. Does anyone know how far back in the axle tube that seal is or are those

bearing suposed to be immersed in gear oil? (Dana 70)

or...

Does anyone know where and how much the service manual for this model truck is?

I have been to the local Barns & Nobel and Borders in search of a Chiltons, but haven't

found anything yet. My next stop is the dealer. Thanks

I gave @ 85 for mine.......

A fellow TDR member steered me here when I was looking. They had the best overall prices ( I got an 85, 93, and 98 service manuals) Faxon Auto Literature: (800)458-2734 or http://www.ebaystores.com/faxonautoliterature

The seals are not actually in the axle tubes, but are in the hubs and yes they run in oil (from the wheel bearings).

Hope it helps.

Leaking seals has been an ongoing problem for many of us. There is a fix using "speedy sleeves" if the housing is grooved and you can find lots of info if you do a search.
