I started replacing the rotors, calipers and pads on the rear of my 04.5 drw. After installing a new axle seal i'm getting a squeak when turning the hub. It definitely sounds like rubber squeaking.
I didn't lube the seal or axle tube prior to installing hub. Is this squeak something I should be concerned about.

Thanks

Cerb and 6 speed I greatly appreciate your replies and professional input. The hub had too much resistance/drag after install. I packed the bearings with grease before reinstalling.
I worked on the other side today and put a very light coating of grease on the inside of the seal. The hub went on a lot smoother.
As much money as it cost in parts to work on these beasts I went ahead and took the side in question back apart. I didn't see any problems with the seal and it seemed to rotate the same as when I first installed it. (New)
When I originally put the side in question back together I didn't pre lube the seal. With the advice of my 78 year old dad/supervisor we used a little grease and things went together better.
I have great respect and appreciation for the knowledge you guys provide to those of us in time of need.
I will post an update when I get some miles on the repair.

Thanks

Trying to diagnose what happened we concluded the seal might have got in a bind because we installed the seal dry. Hopefully this experience can provide some insight for the upcoming influx of 3rd Gen repairs.
