Help! My '96 2500 with 84K has developed a leak in the right rear axle seal. I spent time searching the old posts and found most of the info I need, so I picked up the seals and the socket.

What else do I need as far as parts for this repair?

1. Spray cans of brake cleaner

2. maybe new brake shoes (Raybestos 451 PG+ are good)

3. if you are careful you can reuse the nut and retainer wedge-type clip that sets the axle bearings (tighten nut 120 ft lb, back off 1/8 turn).

4. silicone RTV to seal axle shafts to hubs, and between seal and hub for seals you replaced.

5. lacquer thinner to clean axle/hub area, hub area where seal goes.
