On the cab and chassis is the rear axle the same width as a SRW axle? The DRW pickups have spacers to widen the axle right?

Thanks

I don't think so. I think dually rear axles are wider than 2500 or 3500 srw axles so that the inside rear (Budd) wheel still clears the pickup bed. Haven't ever measured them so might be wrong.

As far as I know, the 3500 cab and chassis uses the same rear axles assembly as the 3500 pickup.

If you look at the models page under dimensions and capacities it shows the 2010 c&c rear track to be 71. 7" and the p/u to be 75. 8" So, assuming that they're measuring from the same points the c&c is narrower. Track on the front for the 2wd c&c is 69. 6" the same as 4wd p/u (DRW), but the 2wd p/u is 68. 6". The rear track for the srw p/u is 68. 2.

Good info.

Wonder why the C&C rear axle is narrower?

Good question. I wonder if it has something to do with an industry standard like the 34" frame width. Maybe the dually pickup needed the wider axle to keep the 4' spacing between the fenderwells like all the pickups?
