Just replace the shoes and all hardware on the passengers side.

I have two problems:

1. the Secondary shoe is 1/4" away from touching the anchor pin, cant seem to get it seated. the Primary side is fine.

2. Install of the parking brake strut doesnt seem right. the FSM says "install oval shaped spring on park brake strut and engage spring end of strut in secondary (rear) shoe. Here is the problem. The drivers side works fine this way because the parking brake lever is attached to the primary (front) shoe, so there is room for the strut/spring end to engage the secondary shoe. However, on the passenger side the parking brake lever attaches to the secondary shoe and there physically is no room for that to happen. Also if you insert the strut in the secondary shoe, same as the lever, then the strut only spans from shoe to shoe instead of lever to shoe.

I attached the spring end to the primary shoe, then to the lever.

Is the FSM manual just incorrect or what am i missing?

The metal part of the shoes should both be identical, just the rear (secondary)shoe has longer lining on it. If the slot where the strut end with spring goes in the secondary shoe is not wide enough then they must have given you the wrong shoe????? From what I see in the old manual I have the passenger side should be a mirror image of the drivers side with the exception of the shoe length and the adjuster lever is on the rear on both sides. bg
