I am replacing the drum brakes on my '97 3/4 ton 4x4. Stupid me, I didn't notice at the beginning that the parking brake cable enters the front of the backing plate on the passenger side and the back of the backing plate on the driver side. The new shoes that I got only have a hole in the primary shoes for the pivot point of the parking brake assembly. Thus, the primary (thicker) shoe is on the back of the passenger side and the front of the driver side. This doesn't seem right. Is it? The parking brake cable has to be where it is because if it was bent around, it would bind. Thanks!

Ended up putting the old shoes on. Will take the new ones back and see what's up. The old ones had holes on both primary and secondary.
