97 3500,rear brake wheel cylinder. The link rod comes out of the wheel cylinder and pushes on the brake shoe at an angle. The cylinder is a chevrolet and was instaled because it is larger. Is the angle ok? The chevrolet cylinder change came from a blog on TDR. More braking stops better when pulling a trailer, used to have a 30 ft toy hauler. Too sever braking for just the truck. I am 81 and going threw a devorce, so its just me and my dog and my truck. Life is a lot better now. I live in Pahrump NV now. Real friendly town. My new girl friend has been telling

Sounds like your shoes aren't aligned properly or the cylinder is not mounted in the correct location or orientation. Something's not right. The pushrod should come straight out of the cylinder.

That cylinder can only go one way unless its very loose. The bolts are very picky and the setting area is very precise. Check out the guide pins and all parts for proper location/alignment.
