I just came back from the desert... ... ... had to turn around and in that process backed into a rock. No speed or heavy pedal!

BUT the bumper took two strong indentations from that rock. I couldn't believe how WEAK it is. I did a search and read that replacing the factory bumper is $500 (??). Anybody have any experience with replacing their back bumper and what brands did you go with?

Take a look at the luverne. They look stock but are a little stronger. The stock rear bumper is 2 components. The chromed outer shell and the inner support skeleton. Most replacements only replace the shell, so if you want something stronger you must replace both parts. With a Luverne you can order the entire assembly. It is not like a buckstop, but will take a little more abuse and is very much a stock look. I think they are about $300-350 for the entire assembly.
