On my 2005 Quad Cab, there are 2 vents behind the rear seat, they vent the air out I would guess between the rear of the cab, and the front of the bed. A lot of noise comes in from these, I was thinking of blocking them off with a sound deadener on the rear of the cab under the carpet. My question is has anyone done this, and how does the air work with out the exhaust venting out, and does the sound level drop after the block off this appears to be not a very great design.

I tried it on my 05 and ended up undoing it. The air worked fine but it my my doors hard to shut unless the windows were cracked open a little. I didn't think it helped with the noise any.

Use the re-circulate setting and you wont have any incoming air to open them. There is a rubber flap door on them to keep out dust and stuff from blowing in when it is parked. You also could have one of the flaps stuck open or broke.
