I just ordered the Putnam class-V receiver for my truck. I am removing the rear cross member, which has the class IV welded on from factory. I Have a replacement rear cross member without the receiver tube welded on, ready to to go. My question is; How difficult is it to lift up the bed the two inches that I hear is necessary to clear the cross member on removal? I also have a camper shell on the bed and plan on using a few friends to lift up on the bed while I take the cross member out. Do I have to loosen all the bed bolts and what about the fuel filler tube. I could probable figure it out but it sure would be nice if someone who has done it can give me a few pointer. Thanks in advanced. Joe.
