Rear diff gasket

Are the gasket seals for the front and rear differential covers reusable or do they need to replaced each time the cover is removed?

I have a MH rear, so no gasket. But on my front I just clean it up and bolt it back together.

i did exactly this, thousands of miles ago, with no issues... don't torque the bolts too tight. snug, then just a touch more.

I've had mine off three times... they do have a life expectancy, and mine was removed around 220K because the steel started rusting and the gasket was junk (started seeping).



I simply used RTV like any other differential.
